Good things come to those who pursue (unobtrusively, mind you).
Thank you to Paula and the Grand Poobah of Toys!

I know some of you might have forgotten, but those who comment are eligible for some some cool prizes. (Please respect the rules of the house, and know that a-holes who are rude, racist, sexist, or homophobic will achieve the might of the banhammer and lose their chances for giveaway fun.)

Only $10,000? That’s chump change.
But congrats on the figure, and even bigger congrats on winning the trip!

That is awesome that you were able to George Lucas’ signature on the figure case. Congratulations to you for winning the contest. Do you have more photos from your trip inside Lucas HQ? You should post them if you do. How are the Clone Wars figures? They look great. Lucky you to have them weeks before release. 2 days and counting for the rest of us.

Commander_1138, the ball is in your court then. $10,000 in this day and age can help a lot of needy people.

That is preety awsome Adam, not exactly what I’d drop 10K’s on, but deffinly cool none the less.

That’s the idea, Jodo, if someone wants to pay $10k, rip it open, and, well, who cares, I’ll do it — only for charity.
However, it means a lot to me personally. Heck, Mr. Lucas himself could buy it, destroy it, and just hand over another.
My partner and I do a L-O-T for charities, and right now they need it the most. I just wish I had more to give.

I’m so jealous. I’d kill for both the signed figure (what a great guy to help you get it signed) and the chance to visit LFL. Congratulations on both!

Hey Adam,
Did you get to tool around on the bikes the employees use to get around the campus? I got to take a brief visit to the ranch about 8 years ago when a friend’s brother was working for Lucas.
I was surprised by how little Star Wars "stuff" was in the main building (particularly in the glass wall cases to the left of the main door), but I guess that makes sense. I was bummed that the employee store didn’t have much as far as ATOC toys at the time (although they had one or two early releases).
Outside of taking a spin on the Lucas bikes the favorite part for me was standing directly below Lucas’s office. Obviously I would never have access to it but just being so close was pretty darn neat.
How cool that you got to spend substantially more time at the ranch — and that you’re getting a figure made of you . . . or is it the Moz?

Brian, no, it was a walking tour. I don’t think they use bikes at the LDAC, but if they do, no one offered the opportunity. They had a nice selection of figures at the shop, like Black Hole Stormtroopers, etc. At $11/per, I think I have my fill.
They’re doing my headsculpt. They don’t have permission to do His. (He would rather have himself sculpted at Bruce Wayne or his young "ward" Dick Grayson.) Don’t ask why. Just don’t.
