Seasick, Yet Still Docked

The first photo we’ve all seen of the "study" model for the lost Shadows of the Empire vehicle Prince Xizor‘s Virago, but what about these other two? Are these foamcore (Hasbro) models just for study, or do they (along with packaging solicited at Toy Fair) indicate this ship’s further advancement? You be the judge.

So you decide. Is this vehicle cool enough to warrant release, or should it stay in the dark archives of Hasbro?

I have always tought the Virago had an exceptional design, from drawings and the very few 3D collectibles available.
A 1:18 scale ship to go with the figures might have not been such a great idea back in ’95, as it had room for only one pilot and not a lot to do in the story. Maybe if Xizor had proven to be a more memorable villain, but it seemingly was not the case.
Now, 13-odd years later, we are going to see a new Xizor that could actually fit inside a cockpit, and nostalgia usually does wonders for certain characters. I feel Hasbro could easily make this ship now, and maybe offer it as an exclusive.

Beats General Grievous’ Starfighter any day! It looks great, even now! What lines, and it transforms! ‘Timeless’ design that’s reminiscent of the Original Trilogy style. One of the ‘great dissapointments’ of my life. At least, i can take comfort in the miniscule Ultra Action Fleet version…

Man….I don’t know.  A couple of years ago I would have really been into this ship but the overabundance of crappy expanded universe stuff is starting to make me cringe.  I think the "power rangers" set thats coming just broke my spirit.  Prince Xixor never really impressed me.  I’d rather have Hasbro work on some of the larger Federation droids than Virago.

I like it. Don’t forget guys, it was also used as the Mandalorian war droid thing in KOTOR 2, so its been retconned as Mandalorian hardware, or something.
