Today seems to be a big markdown day at Target stores nationwide, with prices for clearance ranging from 50%-75% off. At the store here in Atlanta (Buckhead) a local dealer loaded up ten carts full of toys ranging from Star Wars to Barbie, and he was bragging about it as he loaded up five more carts.

Don’t let that stop you from getting some deals, though. With VTSC figures and Demise of General Grievous figures in the $3~ range, it’s worth a stop. Some stores even reportedly have the Target-exclusive Skirmish in the Senate Battle Pack for $5~.

Readers please note the new poll on the front right side of the Galactic Hunter home page, and vote. The best way to send a clear message to Hasbro is to tell them what you really want. No, Bea Arthur is not listed.

Also, Blogger reader Jared Chalfant sent in this photo of a custom Ackmena figure that he made.

I wish things were on clearance down here in (Ft. Lauderdale area).  Everything is still full price, of course we sold our of Skirmish in the Senate a while ago.  By the way, great custom figure!

Agree with Dave…I had a good laugh when I saw the Target clearance price for the VTSC was still higher than the full price at TRU and Walmart….I dont expect anything more than 30% in the near futureCustom figures continue to amaze me….I especially love the custom paint jobs and weathering techniques applied on troopers…wow…

I don’t understand Target’s clearance policy either. We have two Targets’ within 10-15 miles of each other and neither of them have the same clearance prices as the other or as the ones I read about online. What gives? I don’t know how many times I’ve read that something has gone on clearance at Target’s across the US only to get to mine and find them at regular price still. It’s down right frustrating!

To the best of my knowledge, it’s done according to some market scheme, so if you’re in the Top 25 market, for example, you go first to make room for newer, full price stuff. They all clear out, it’s just a matter of time and patience. Keep checking those stores, and one morning you’ll wake up to 50%-75% off. It’s like Christmas in… July.
