"We’ve put together a dream wave! Six new saga figures!
Willow Hood (Ice Cream Maker Guy) #53; Yarna (d’al Gargan) # 54; X-tra crispy Beru and Owen Lars; Dead Jawa 2 pack; Funeral Pyre Vader; Funeral Qui-Gon. They will be released <laughs> 4/1/07"
(…with thanks to Bill Cox from Yakface.com for the quote)

Oh, Hasbro, you wanna throw down, huh? Now I can see crackin’ jokes about the Ice Cream Maker Guy, but when you diss my Gargan and all them dead folks, you’re dissin’ the wrong Blogger. Do I say nasty things about ya’ll? No! Do I disrespect the rehashes and kitbashes? No! Did I make fun of Darth Vader (Hoth) when his helmet flew off all the time? No! So why you gonna come up in here, well San Diego, kicking sand in my grill?
I’m totally challenging Hasbro to a walk off now.

It’s all in good fun, CB, they’re good people. We all know that Gargan will be made eventually. I still challenge them to a walk-off, judged by David Bowie. We’ll see who’s got the chutzpah to make it in the real world of the professional male model.

Dude! I would sooooo buy that April Fool’s wave …. if it were real.

Don’t worry! According to Hasbro, at least 10 names out of the ToyFare magazine poll will make the list of figures to be produced in 2007 by Hasbro…
So don’t despair! You may not see the Ice Cream Maker Guy, but I’m pretty convinced that we’ll see Yarna (d’al Gargan) very soon…

Best part of the Hasbro panel? When Darryl announced that figures #70 – #74 would be WalMart exclusives. The boos went on for a good 30 – 50 seconds. The only thing he could come up with was “huh huh, point taken” – I wonder if someone were to smack him over the head with a 2″x4″ that said “NUMBERED COLLECTION FIGURES SHOULD NEVER BE A RETAILER EXCLUSIVE” – I wonder if the point would be taken then.

Easy reliation Adam: let’s just all vote for the figures on Hasbro’s April Fool’s list the next time they have a fan’s choice poll…. I’d buy a dead Jawas 2-pack (so long as it come with soft goods cloak of course!)
Who’s laughing now, Hasbro?

The room was electric as they started to announce the April’s Fools Wave. After a moment or two it was obvious that they couldn’t possibly be serious. I’d still like to see the Ice Cream Maker Guy and Peter is right about the boos when Darryl announced the WM exclusives. It was ugly but deservedly so. All-in-all, they’ve got some good stuff commin’ even if they are dissin’ the Galactic Blogger.

I was pretty Pissed when hasbro did the April Fools joke. Not to the point to make a big deal out of it, but enough to talk to hasbro Rep Mark about it for awhile. He said they know how much we want Hood and Yarna, but they don’t fit in with their plans at this time. I said nicely and with all do respect I’m tried of that same old answer. He understood and said as a designer he wished he could do them all, but as only a designer he didn’t have the last say in the deal. At the Panel they did how ever say that a few of the joke figures will be made and Hood and Yarna are the only ones that make sense to me. I don’t ever see hasbro making a DEAD action figure, not ever Vader or Padme.

I think Willrow Hood should be a Dairy Queen exclusive.
