Some Blogs Are Bigger Than Others
Today I’m getting a bit of a treat, because this is the type of stuff that I love to write. Right after I started Galactic Blogger, I was contacted by Stand Tall Display Systems because they saw my weird little display tips. They wanted to know if I would review their product? Well, yeah, that’s a no-brainer. A tiered display system that is modular and configurable in about a billion different combinations? That’s for me.
So I received the package early this week, and, to be honest, this review shouldawouldacoulda been up on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I’ve been having so much fun goofing around with the Stand Tall bits and pieces that I’m just now getting around to writing about it. I only opened one set, but I turned it into a sprawling battle zone, and a nicely layered showcase with different levels.
Being a playset junkie and being slightly obsessed with the idea of visually "merchandising" my action figures, the Stand Tall concept is very appealing. The system connects together by snapping legs and extensions onto the black disks, but I’ll leave the physics and geometry to the professionals. I’m here to relay the experience. Once I started creating configurations, I didn’t stop. My imagination helped me to build my own little piece of Coruscant for my figures to populate. It was a blast.
My biggest concern after I read up on the system was stability, but I had little or no trouble keeping everything happy and balanced. It turned out to be a very sturdy product. You see, I’m left-handed, and I can break pretty much anything. I’m happy to say that all of the pieces that this set came with are intact.
Without pushing the "sell" for this review too much, the product works, it’s sturdy and made from quality materials, and I had a lot of fun trying it out. What more can I write? It’s a great idea, and I’m more than happy to see any business that wants to cater to collectors who open and display their stuff. It looks fantastic! Stand Tall didn’t pay for this review, and I receive no referral or commission from any sales they might make – this is simply my opinion. If you like what you’ve read, check them out. They’ve got a money-back guarantee, and I think many readers will agree that that’s a sign that they really, er, Stand Tall, behind their product.
I have a few extra sets of Stand Tall Display Systems for this week’s Galactic Goodie Bag winners, and I hope they find them as enjoyable as I have.

any chance to see your imaginations and creativity? Personally I m intrigued, and would ask Stand Tall to consider 2 suggestions 1) magnetic black disks, with magnetic figure stands 2) pivoted black disks enabling other "planes" other than the horizontal….I hope I m making sense. With the above 2, I can see a epic jedi battle…sith anakin looking down at master obiwan from high-ground, poised to make the decisive thrush…

This seems like an incredibly fun approach to presentation (at least for small-scale collections). I shall have to look into it! I already have a ton of ideas of what I could do with those….

I’ve always been an "environmental diorama display" kinda guy, but your review really intrigues me. I can see how these could be a fun way to display outside of my movie environment rut.

You know, I’ve always thought that these stand tall displays would take up alot of room for displaying alot of figures at once……I’ll just use those little pizza "tables" I get with evry pizza I order till I buy some….

Good review! I would enjoy seeing more reviews of SW action figure related supplies – such as stands, storage cases, etc. Thanks. — BTK

I’d be interested in these if they came in a clear plastic version similar to the figure stands. For me, the figure should be the focus … not the mass of black circular discs and twigs.

Personally I`ve been thinking of getting these. This really helps to have someone not associated with the item to review and give it a thumbs up. Thanks Adam, I just may get this now.

Adam, I too would be interested in how people store their figures, like the best tackle boxes or art boxes, or whatever.

I personally think they look very cheap. Probably good for a kid.
