Top 10 Biggie Sized Droids
That We’d Really Like
1. Probot (Hoth Invasion) — Sorry guys, we loved the POTF2 model, but it’s time for an upgrade. We know you can do
it. You have the technology.
2. Spider Tank Droid (Battle of Geonosis) — It’s more legs than machine. So what’s the harm in making one? The legs can easily break down for boxing, and it could even become two droids in one with the shorter legs for more aggressive scouting. (Extra points if you make the round head open up to hold a scrunched-up Battle Droid.)
3. Wind-Up Vulture Droid (Battle of Coruscant) — This was originally planned for the Episode I toy line, but it got nixed due to monetary issues. Please, sirs, may we have some more? I know some collectors only want perfectly accurate pieces, but wind-ups are where it’s at. See below, Hunter’s Holy Grail, for more.
4. Transformable Vulture Droid (Battle of Coruscant) — This is an easy repaint of the transforming Vulture Droid (Droid Fighter back then) from the 1999 Episode I collection. Throw in a couple of Buzz Droids and a battle damaged R4-G9 head, and we’ve got a set worth selling for $15! Alternatively, sell us the tan model seen in the animated Clone Wars series, with a Mace Windu to ride it through the Coruscant skyline, blasting away.
5. Tri-Droid (Octuptarra Droid) (Siege On Mygeeto) — We’d like the huge one. We’ll take the small one. Can we settle for a nice, robust mid-size?
6. Tank Droid (Battle of Kashyyk) — Scale this one down just a hair so that it can hold a Battle Droid on either side, have the front flip up to unload some Battle Droids or roll out some Droidekas, and we will blow those flea bag Wookiees to pieces.
7. HMP Droid Gunship (Battle of Kashyyk) — The perfect foe for all of our Republic Gunships.
8. Manta Class Droid Sub (Clone Wars) — This is only here because we really want SCUBA Clone Troopers, and they need to battle something.
9. Durge’s IG Assault Droid w/ Swoop (Clone Wars) – IG Droids kill Clones. Dead.
10. Chameleon Probe Droid (Clone Wars) — Sell us a variant made out of clear plastic, and we can fully reenact their sabotage on Ilum, and Yoda‘s attack on these sneaky stealth snipers. (Do one in clear plastic to simulate their cloaks. We’ll buy them.)
As a bit of a companion piece to this, check out this Neimoidian Walking Chair of a similar fashion over at Behind The Toys.

Didn’t we already get ROTS Battle of Coruscant vulture droids last year (in two flavors)?

Yes, but it wasn’t the transforming (walking) version of the droid, it was the static ship version.

I could NOT agree with you anymore, this is the stuff I want to see too….I am glad to know I am not the only one who wants CIS stuff. Especially the spider tank and the droid gunship.
Maybe starting a petition since Hasbro is in the mood for making vehicles would be a good idea? I’ d sign up!

Some of these droids seem like no-brainers for the Big H. Kids dig droids, collectors dig droids, why can’t we have more droids? Especially that wind-up Vulture Droid – that thing’s sweet!

If I recalled correctly, the EP1 vulture droid set had only one transformable, and 2 ship versions…the reason why I passed at that time. I had hoped the ROTS version (single) would be a transformable one….*sigh* I like it in walking mode much better
